Chassis & Enclosure

Crafted from solid 40x40 T-slot aluminum profiles, the chassis features powder-coated laser-cut aluminum brackets and joints. An optional 3mm black Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) enclosure is available for select models, enhancing stability and environmental control.

Dual extruders and external SD card support contribute to a seamless printing experience.

IDEX Dual Printing Add On

With Independent Dual Extruder (IDEX) technology, the Modix printer can print models with internal geometries and dense support layers. This add-on reduces post-processing effort and enhances success rates for complex prints.

The IDEX solution is available as an optional add-on for all Generation 4 printers but is included in this professional bundle, providing the following components:

  • Secondary Printing Subsystem: Includes the Griffin print head, clog detector, PTFE, and spool mount.
  • Motion System: Incorporates a secondary Y-axis motor along with necessary components such as belts and pulleys.
  • Metal Brackets: Equips both the Y-axis and print heads with sturdy metal brackets.
  • Wires, Drag Chains, and Optical End-stops: All essential wiring, drag chains, and optical end-stops are thoughtfully included.

Automatic Filament Changer

The IDEX system doubles as an automatic filament changer, streamlining print workflows and ensuring uninterrupted operation. When utilizing the same filament for both print heads, the printer adeptly switches between them as soon as a filament run-out is detected. This innovation offers a host of advantages:

Enhanced Efficiency: Addressing a key challenge in 3D printing, the incessant need for vigilant monitoring and intervention is mitigated. This is particularly crucial when prolonged printing sessions risk an overnight stall due to the depletion of filament. The Modix IDEX Filament Changer steps in as a solution, enabling the printer to autonomously swap filament spools. Super High Flow Hotend

Opt for the Super Volcano hotend. The high flow Super Volcano hotend is an optional add on tailored for customers engaged in printing large and robust objects at high speeds. This add on is particularly advantageous for crafting thick vase mode style objects that demand structural integrity.

Built upon the foundation of the E3D Super Volcano heat block and nozzles, this upgrade caters to efficiency and performance. Equipped with an 80W heater and thermistor, the enhanced version arrives with a meticulously crafted CNC made mounting bracket. This bracket not only ensures the protection of the elongated heat-block during printing but also bolsters stability. As a result, this integration significantly elevates print quality by minimizing vibrations during acceleration, resulting in superior output.
